i was using stock at first, but then i switched to a sp120 high performance edition.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007RESFVI

i moved it so its pulling. not sure if its just a load fan, or the fact that its in a pull configuration, but it is pretty loud compared to the stock fan.

you can probably skip the fujipoly pads if you want to save a few bucks. on top of that you can get the grizzly pads for the ram and the kryonaut paste for free (minus shipping and tax).

performancepcs has a promotion where you get a full refund on 1 thermal pad from grizzly and 1 paste from grizzly. i did receive my refund already! for like $10 in tax and shipping you might as well do it.

I would say that buying new pads for ram is pretty much useless. For vrms it's necessary(at least my point of view) smile.gif
I believe he just needs 1 strip for vrms which would cost him 20$ ?

Also you can use some fan splitter so you can power up both Corsair SP120 Fans from you card directly.
@lCornholio, also don't forget about correct mounting position of the rad.

On the side note.....
Guys, I will be doing modified bios for you to get increased performance with no extra voltage or anything. Let me know what you think.
It will be based on Sapphire OC bios.

i dont know which is better, i just suggested what was easier/cheaper. i wanted to cover all bases so i just did it all. in the end with the rebates its only $45 bucks to re do everything. i think its money well spent and you will have peace of mind replacing everything.

Some ppl have reported throttling and they were under the thermal limit.

If you know the answer to your question (poor air management) then why ask? If you chose to go w/ an itx build and this card, you're looking for lots of heat as hawaii is known to be very hot and power hungry. If you're looking for alternatives besides the obvious, they have been suggested by other members, but this is like putting a band-aid on a gun-shot wound imho. You're priority is to get good air flow to the card. Using different paste or pads may work but overall, you're still in the same boat. And not to mention you're also probably suffocating the rest of your system. If you want more suggestions, why not get a Ti? It's very close to the 295x2, uses less power and generates a lot less heat. There's no pump(s) to worry about as well as crossfire issues. Other then this, the Fury X does have an aio but I would side w/ the Ti for the extra ram.

edit:

on a side note, I got a new water cooling part biggrin.gif:

@wermad,

Was it hard to mount those koolance shrouds on the top of X9? Rly like your build and thinking of buying X9 biggrin.gif
post #8358 of 9142
Pretty straight forward, just just gotta get the alignment right as there's little room for the mounting points. I still have mine(the shrouds), I haven't found a new owner for them. As for the X9, its hard to choose between the standard black or the "snow" edition biggrin.gif

I would go with black ofc.
Black with red lights! tongue.gif
I also have an external radiator, MO-RA3 with 8x200mm red led fans in push pull.
Not sure how I would loop it all together with internal rads and components hmmm bulb.gif

You obviously know everything, and so my question is why are you asking us for help? Frankly you treated we are mad so poorly when he did suggest a VALID fix,

Let's break down your first post ( it is broken and throttling )

We have no proof, nor evidence. Should we just tell every one to go buy a phase change unit?
