How to use Mobile GPU's in a Desktop?

Thread Starter
Im drumming up sketches of my next modification build, and have determined that I will need to employ the use of mobile GPU's to save on real estate.

Now lets get something out of the way, I know there are standardized mobile GPU's I can potentially use, reading around the iMac had employed this strategy at one point as well.

Also, before the obligatory "why dont you use a desktop variant?" To put it simply, I want to try something a little different, while getting the best performance per liter. Its a promise I made to another member to kick his butt into gear for the silentium and also to take some of the spirit of the friend I never had. Syrillian.

The best I can find while looking around is this

http://www.liantec.com/product/TBM-1630.htm#Ordering_Code

Theres mention of some prototype out there but mostly vaporware. I humbly ask the experts out here, what would I need to do to make this a reality?

Also worth mentioning, the sole purpose once in use will be to fold 24/7

Wouldn't you just need a bracket adapter that would connect a laptop graphics card to a PCIe slot? Or am I missing something here?

As far I can tell from my initial search, it's not like connecting via ribbon cable. I don't have anything to back that up other than a couple of things.

1. MXM slot is different than pcie in form factor

2. A lot of searches end with a simple no, with not too much reasoning other than the reasoning above.

There is rumor of someone posting a video to prove that mobile gpu working in a desktop but I haven't seen it yet

Of course I could be using the wrong keywords in my searches too lol.

In this review they used an adapter from MxM to PCIe but i don't know if you can find it anywhere.

It also doesnt seem to have a name for it either, just "interposer" card which doesnt really say much as that seems to mean a lot of things especially in the server world.

Thanks for the tip though!
