2.8 billion dollars gross from ps4 sales. wonder what they netted.
That is impressive, given the fact that there's hardly any games worth buying the PS4 for yet. I wonder how the xbox 1 compares.

That's nowhere near an accurate number.

And there goes the first assist for a fanboy war.

It is a great feat for the PS4. They did so much better this time than with the PS3 regarding sales.
Good to see consoles are still going strong.

I would have thought it would be more around the 15 million mark now, especially because it was released not long before Christmas.

$399 (RRP for the 500 GB PS4) x 7,000,000 = $2,793,000,000 ($2.793 billion), or $2.8 billion if you round up.

I apologize, I didn't mean to do that. I do think it's a great feat.

And you would be right, if it weren't for the fact that we're talking about global sales, where 1 euro/pound/any other world currency doesn't equal 1 US Dollar.

That number means nothing and doesn't even remotely imply that's Sony's net profit. Are you just trying to quantify the amount of PS4s sold?

RRP in the US = $399
RRP in the UK = £349 ($586.79 USD as of this post)
RRP in the EU = €399 ($552.64 USD as of this post)
RRP in Australia = $549 AUD ($513.00 USD as of this post)

Before taxes, shipping, other expenses, the PS4 is around $349-$449 USD everywhere. $2.8 billion gross is a pretty accurate guess.

Read the original post that mentions $2.8 billion...

They can't build 'em fast enough. Sony has confirmed that that the 7million is "sold to consumers."
