Stay Away From Leawo software!!

This is not a thread asking for help, it is a warning to anyone who is thinking of buying video software. Please don't let my horrific experience with this company and the literal theft of my money be in vein.

I have purchased Leawo Blu-ray ripper twice (yea, I am that dumb), once for version 3.0, then again for version 4.0. each came with a key good for one pc at a time. first time installed everything worked fine, then (both versions), after a reinstall of my OS neither will activate, stating that the software is already active on another pc. Ok, I've run into this issue before with other software, no big deal right? wrong after countless support requests, which takes the leawo team 2 days to even respond, and being told over and over again sorry, and that my software key has been unlocked it will still say the same thing and I can not activate. finally my requests now go unanswered, no reply emails any more from leawo, and I am shafted with almost 100$ worth of use less software. The only thing that ever changed was now my version 4.0 says my "upgrade period has expired", however I am not trying to upgrade anything, simply trying to reinstall the version that I downloaded and saved when I purchased the key, (this has also been brought to Leawo's attention, no response).

I want to be clear that I am not a noob, and I have been building and messing with computers since a child and am a novice user, Leawo simply does not give a dam. I hope I am the only one who had issues with them but I doubt it, just look elsewhere when its time to buy software, there are many, many other mfrs out there that will be happy to do business with you in a respectful manner and not steal your money leaving u with your pants down and a soar rear-end.

Good grief! I've been shafted once or twice in similar fashion so I can feel your pain. sadsmiley.gif

I don't know much about the law on this, but I would think there must be some consumer rights that we have. I mean it's not illegal (nor unreasonable) to reinstall your OS. People do that sometimes and it's not fair to screw someone out of a license because their activation system doesn't know the difference between a reinstall and a duplicate install. mad.gif

yep.. it just bothered me a lot, and the last email I sent to them after the last few with no response from them I promised id let as many know about it as possible, I know its a lost cause... but makes me feel better if even just one person reads this and saves there money.

There is open source programs that will rip Blu Ray discs but I am not at all sure it is legal. Can someone confirm this?

I'm thinking of two programs available. But I do not want to post links or names to something that maybe against the rules or illegal.
