I just break those latches as soon as I get a new motherboard. It just eliminates one of life's unnecessary hassles.

Heh, Nooooooooooooooooooooooo. tongue.gif They do a good job of holding the video card in place. You can carefully remove them so they can be put back on later though.

It's on it's way back to them this morning. I managed to find out that they replaced one of the BIOS chips (their words). Looking at the board, one of the little chips in there below the south bridge heat sink, to the right of the PCIE lanes is stuck on the board at a 45 degree angle. There's a lump of solder on the bottom of it. The chips above and below look like they are the same type, but are on there straight. Asus techs are drunk, obviously.

I demanded a replacement board. I'll see what comes back...

Good luck with that. I'm having a ton of problems with Asus RMA right now too. Hopefully they will give you a new board without hassle. I'll be lucky to even get my board back at this point.

I'm sorry to hear that, Blaise. rooting around the forums, and particularly on here, it sounds like we are not the only ones. They have this last go around to make it right, if that doesn't happen, I'm going to get the BBB and the AZ Attorney Generals office involved. Where did your board go back to? Mine is going to Indiana, I think. We should all get together and have a road trip up there. Show 'em what's what...

Yep, mine went to the Pegatron return center in Indiana. I live in KY so it wasn't too far to ship. I already filed a complaint with BBB since they've been completely useless the last six times I've contacted them. They've even just closed the chat on me a few times without offering any further assistance.

Yeah. Pegatron is the manufacturer that makes boards for a lot of the OEMs, especially HP.
