Can GTX470 SLI handle three monitors?(Not necessarily for gaming)

I am stuck in the stone age running SLI GTX470's cooled with EK full cover blocks. I'd really like to upgrade, but it just isn't in the budget right now. I currently have three monitors available for use, 2x Asus 24" 1920x1080 and 1x Samsung 25" 1920x1200. My idea was to put the Samsung in the center and have the two Asus monitors on either side of it. Haven't decided if I will put the two Asus in portrait or landscape yet, but I'm leaning toward landscape.

So I am wondering if my two GTX470's are powerful enough to run all three monitors. I have a feeling I wouldn't get great performance gaming on all three, if it would even work at all.

Also, what GPU would be a good, relatively cheap upgrade option for triple monitor gaming? Not really looking to get a $1000 powerhouse card, but more of a best bang for your buck kind of deal.

you should be ok in most games really. I ran 470's on 3x 24'' AOC 1920x1080's & I only really struggled on GTA IV with FPS getting sudden drops below 20 at times. most more demanding games will run fine on medium with low AA settings. I had mine clocked at 750 core/ cant remember the mem speed now tbh

hope that helps you a little?

Very much so! Thanks for the response. I'll have to give it a shot once I get everything up and running again.
