[Various] Intel pledges Skylake ramp in 2015 - Page 6

Can't they just introduce a new architecture where one core will be faster and specialized for coordinating the rest of the cores? In games, for example, whenever there's a CPU bottleneck it's always one thread (the main thread) maxing out.

They already did that, and then realized they could take this super-powerful core, and add 3 more just like it on the die.

Or they could glue some Atom cores beside the Haswells. Use the Atom for browsing, activate Haswell for gaming.

Tired of these tiny performance increases. Moores law doesnt seem to be relevant anymore. We need a paradigm shift. Silicon is dead we need graphene, artificially created diamonds or something else to make a quantum leap beyond these little upgrades on silicon.

That's a great idea. I think Nvidia does something like that though with their Tegra processors.

Same here - looking forward to seeing a review on this. Don't often get them in this area of the computer industry. DDR, DDR2 and DDR3 thumb.gif

I think it died when we got cores. "We continued it, add the transistors of the cores". Wait a minute, this is a CPU, not a GPU that is supposed to be normal to be splitting pixels and vertices to cores, you aren't supposed to say you adhere to Moore's "Law" by adding CPUs together.
