plug configuration (small debacle with fan configuration, hydro series h110)

Thread Starter
i recently purchased a 4770k, rog hero mobo, corsair carbide 500r, and a few other parts.

the corsair carbide has room for 3 fans on its front controller so those arent of any concern.

the real issues:
1. which of the four (4) fan plugs on the motherboard do i plug the 3 plugs from my corsair H110 into? i was thinking pump on the cpu slot, and then the two fans on the chassis slots.
2. i also have two other fans, one on the rear of the case for exhaust, and one on the bottom as intake. i only will have 1 motherboard fan connector leftover so im assuming i can just use an adapter for one of them right?

so yea how should i configure the pump? is it recommended to plug that into the motherboard or should i use the adapter for that so it gets full power?

1. You are correct about the pump connector, it plugs into the cpu header. The two radiator fans can go on any motherboard headers as well. Those two could even go on the y-splitter if that makes it easier.

2. Yes, using an y-splitter off one of the motherboard headers should be fine. Or, also like you said, you could run one or multiple fans off molex to fan header adapters if you don't mind that fan running at full speed.
