My first WMO: Loving it!

Despite beeing a mouse nerd for so long and having tested a bunch of gaming mice, I never had a WMO before.
But of course I was curious as to what makes this mouse so special and why so many top players still use it after all those years.
So yesterday the WMO I ordered off of ebay finally arrived.
The mouse I used before this was the Zowie FK, which I think tracks a good bit better than any other mouse I tested so far.
But I have to say the WMO tracks at least as good, if not better.
Shape is alright (not perfect, could be a little smaller for me), it is super light (which is a big deal to me) and best of all I only payed $12.90 for it (free shipping).
http://www.ebay.de/itm/221145782309?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
The low perfect controle speed of ~1.5 has not bothered me at all so far, despite a relatively low sensitivity of 35-40cm/360.
All in all I was really positively surprised how much I like this mouse, since I was sceptical thinking all the hype was just due to nostalgia from people living in the past.

So what I guess I'm trying to say is: Get a WMO if you never had one!
It's very cheap and you might just love it.
Plus you can't call yourself a true mouse nerd untill you tried the pice of history this mouse is tongue.gif

Yeah I did that of course smile.gif
Took me a while to realise that I can't overlock it on a USB3.0 port, but it's running at 500Hz now wink.gif

Edit: Oh and is the optical mouse blue bigger or smaller than the WMO?
If the sensor is the same and the shape is maybe a little bit better for me I might give it a go aswell.

WMO is one of my absolute favorites. I think the shape is one of its strongest sides, as it's comfortable for palmgrip and still being very easy to lift. The weight is very good, low and very well balanced. One thing I don't like about the WMO is that the LOD does seem higher than the IO1.1 and IE3.0. But it sure is a steal for todays prices.
WMO shape in better materials, better cable, 800dpi, 500/1000hz and lower lod, a scroll that doesn't wear out as fast. It would be the instabuy of the decade!

Hmm looks a little slimmer, which is nice.
Can it still be bought anywhere? Can't find anything on ebay.

It is what it is... a bit outdated & cheap, but obviously one of the best mice that many pros use and have been using for years.

You can't go wrong with it.

Just don't update to windows 8.1. No USB overclocking = RIP WMO. Unless you have one of those MSI motherboards with the built in gaming USB ports.

Yeah the WMO is one of the most precise and low latency sensors ever at 1000 Hz it's just too bad you absolutely cannot use it on 8.1 or at stock polling rates.
