Its what you need to deliver clean, steady power to the cpu and ram. The more phases and/or the quality of those phases plays a huge part in how far you can overclock.

Its fine, unless he got a bad one. Ive had mine up to over 400 watts per my Kill-A-Watt meter and it wasnt breaking a sweat or even revving the fans much . And this July, Ive had it 4 years on 3 different systems. Still holding spec voltages per my good VOM. Ripple per reviews is good and way under spec. What more do I want for $50 after rebate, heh ?
Yes, it does seem like there are some bad units out there, like with any psu (check top of the line psu reviews) or any other electronic component out there, but my CX600 is not included. Edited by cpmee - 4/18/14 at 1:59pm
