Problem with that kind of resolution is that you will have to scale anyway, and since most Windows apps completely ignore scaling rules, you'll likely have some headache. IMHO, anything more than 1080p/1200p on <14" seems overkill for a regular Windows environment. (Saying this as someone with the 2560 x 1440p HP )

Besides that, it does look like a pretty decent machine though. OP, also check out stuff from Xoticpc.com

I'm not looking for a gaming laptop. An integrated GPU will do just fine and will save me some battery.

Just thought I'd throw that out there since it has all those goodies inside it for a great price. I'd compare it with sites like Powernotebook.com and HIDEvolution.com as well.

What will you need this laptop for? I just assumed gaming from the 1080p and 8GB RAM requirement. tongue.gif

Dell XPS 13 Ultrabook - Developer Edition (on Dell's Business Laptops listings). Only get this if you're fine with Ubuntu or have a spare Windows key sitting around (actually, even if you buy a Windows key, it might be still less than the Windows version of the laptop. Don't take my word for it).

I'd try to stick with a 1080p resolution for something this size, there's more than a good handful of programs/apps I frequent on my desktop that don't scale with the 3200x1800 on my Yoga yet, thankfully I don't use the laptop for these programs but still a con until 3rd party developers do their part.

For just pure ultrabook, I'd avoid Acer myself, Lenovo you'll have to deal with average battery performance (unless you're glued to the wall like I am lol), Apple is apple, the ASUS UX302LA might be up your alley, and I find the HP Spectre 13T pretty solid as well.

The dell xps 13 seems to have a problem where an electrical coil whine sound is coming from the keyboard area.
