Cant control SP120 quiet edition fans

Hey!
I have h100i with 2 corsair sp120 quiet edition fans on it. I tried to control the fans trough corsair link at first, when they were plugged to the pump and they didn't respond at all, they just ran at around 1400rpm no matter what settings i put in. Then i got a phobya y-spliter and plugged the fans straight to the CPU header, but i cant still control them trough speedfan. All the other fans i can control with speedfan, just not the CPU fans. MY Motherboard is msi z77a-gd43 and and i've tried disabling and enabling every "smart" fan control stuff in bios and nothing works...
Any idea what's going on? I'm trying to set up the fans so that they turn off and on depending on load.

I'm assuming they are 3-pin fans? You need 4-pin (PWM) fans to be able to control them through software.

Some newer boards do let you control 3-pin fans, mainly Asus boards, but yours doesn't.

Yep and thats a very lovely feature when they give you like 5 fan headers on the mobo. smile.gif

Along with that stupidly simple, yet brilliant mobo Q-connector, heh.

I can control my 3 pin Gt ap-13ies on the 4 pin headers on the mobo but not on the 3 pin headers. The cpu header is 4 pin.
I could try some 4 pin fans on them tho...
