which linux distro?I heard that the hardest thing that game devs face when trying to make a game for linux is the variety of distros rather than using OpenGL instead of Direct3D,is this true?

If they follow the Steam for Linux model, it'll be designed for Ubuntu but compatible with most Debian distros.
Valve mentioned why they chose Ubuntu, but I do not remember 100% why. It had something to do with the size and/or quality of Ubuntu's repositories, I think.

I run Steam perfectly fine on my Manjaro (arch based) SSD. I only wish you could share game files between windows and linux versions - as my games are all on an external drive.

I'm playing through BL2 again right now, actually. The impact this would have on Linux gaming is what really matters. Newer and newer games are being released for Linux these days, and eventually (hopefully) games will have full Linux support on launch day.
Not sure what you meant in your post bro but I can relate...this is one of those games( I have Borderlands 1 and 2) along with the Half Life 2 series that I purchased based on folks saying it was a great game but really these games IMO did not appeal to me and I only played them for at least like you said 10 hrs max.
on topic: Its wonderful news that more games are coming to Linux for folks that use that OS.
funny thing is i'm playing through bl2 right now. A Linux port now might be a little late in it's life cycle but if it is well received then I vote please do it because future bl games or gearbox games in general are more likely to make the switch.
