2014 - a mouse oddysey

Thread Starter
So originally i started this year on a SteelSeries Sensei RAW and a Steelseries Qck+ fnatic. Nothing bad to say, but i bought both, because i thought " Hey, the pros all are using Steelseries Mice and Pads, so they must be very good". BOY WAS I WRONG.

So i started reading here in the forum and decided to buy an Zowie FK + Zowie G-TF Speed. An awesome combo so far.

But then , this month, i went into a store and bought myself a new mechanical Keyboard (had a Qpad Mk-50 then, got a Razer BLackwidow 2014) because i wanted one with illumination and i wasnt the biggest fan of the slippery and light to press keys of the MX red's on the MK-50 but now i realize, that the razer blackwiddow isnt as good as i hoped it would be.

All good so far.
Then, a few days later after some very bad cs:go matches, i thought "man, i cant aim with that zowie thing" (the real problem was: i was ill and couldnt focus) so next day, i ran into the store and bought a Razer Deathadder 2013 and a fitting Goliathus Speed alpha to it. It is not a bad combo, but i must say: i switched to the FK and the G-TF Speed again. I use the Goliathus as an expensive padding under the G-TF, because it is a little "uncushioned". I totally regret it, that i bought the Deathadder and Goliathus mad.gif. I might sell those on ebay or so, but all i can say is: Don't buy gear when down or drunk. Get yourself time and evalute what to buy, because you dont want to waste money biggrin.gif

It still took me a good 5 or 6 mice with heavy research before I found the perfect mouse and pad for FPS for me: Mionix Avior 7000 and Puretrak Talent

Btw what was wrong about your Blackwidow 2014 ? Was orange or Greens ?
for me, started 2014 with deathadder 3.5g, then cm storm spawn, then zowie ec1 evo cl, then zowie ec2 evo cl, the logitech g100s, logitech g502, and finally Roccat wired pyra. I spent way too much money this year on mice.

That was quick! when i get a new mouse, if the shape feels ok i usually give a few weeks to a month before having a final evaluation, if i stay with the mouse, in up to 4 months (usually a couple) muscle memory sets in..
i'm really comfortable with my mouse and keyboard, not so sure about mouse pad yet..

agreed on DA2013. I feel like it's a decent mouse but it's not for me. I will next be getting the Mionix NAOS 7000 and Puretrak Stealth.

I currently use a very worn and frayed Qck pad.

A question I've always wanted to ask here is - After getting a new mouse, and if you like it better than you previous one/s, do you most you guys sell your old mice or do you keep them?

I usually sell most of my secondhand hardware and I also buy quite a bit of secondhand hardware if I find a good deal, but I've never sold or bought a secondhand mouse or keyboard. I just thought it would be hard to sell these items because of them being "used", it doesn't appeal to me to buy or sell them cause you never know how clean or dirty they would be.

I really would like to start buying more mice and keyboards to try out like the OP has, just don't know what I would do with them if I don't like them.

Very pleased with this combo's performance as well but the AVIOR is a tad to big for my tiny hands. Well at least now I know with the 3310 my raging on mice might finally be over once someone releases a smaller mouse with it.

@ Ice009

I sell most of them but I keep a few of them as backup.

So far my 2 backup mice will the AVIOR 7000 and SAVU. Both suffering from "shape being ok'ish" for me so whenever my main mouse breaks I can use them as backup, knowing that at least there won't be anything else about those 2 mice that annoys me.

My first mouse was a Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse 2.0 red that still works even after more than 9 years of use but it started to double click, lost signal reception and the scroll wheel started to dissolve into a yellow gelatin (?) , then bought a CMS Spawn mainly because it was the only good mouse I could buy in my country personally, after 1 year started to have double click issues in both main buttons but after pressing down both buttons really hard for 1 minute with all the extension of my fingers the problem become uncommon, I really love the shape of the spawn despite its annoying cable and THEN my favorite game after the last Christmas update, won't let me decrease the mouse sensitivity to my playable speed, I tried everything to fix it but nothing worked and so I am planning to buy a new mouse with lower DPI, the M-Avior 7000 but I'm still saving for the mouse and the mousepad.

There are a lot of beautiful good looking mouses in the market but when I do start to research them I always feels like they have some really hard cons, sad :c

I just hope I can get used to the M-Avior 7000 shape, I was thinking in the Zowie FK too but its lowest DPI is 450 and I am not sure if 450 would be enough for circumvent the problem with the game.
