Aspire 5920g, laptop screen help

Hey guys. I have a problem with the Aspire 5920g on the laptop screen which I haven't bothered with for a while but I now want to get it sorted. The laptop display is no longer working. It's is just blank. External display seems to work great however. The laptop powers on with Sound and HDD activity, so I know Windows has logged in. I have removed the screen shell and taken out the back, and then unplugged and replugged in the LCD Cable, as well as doing this to the two cables in the little chip at the bottom, the inverter I believe, as well as the webcam cable. Doing this appears to have done nothing, and I fear the screen may well be dead.

It's probably not worth replacing the LCD, and more worth it to replace the laptop. I have a Aspire 5720 in backup but with the Intel GPU it's horrible for playing my favorite mobile games, Chaos Theory, Superpower 2 and San Andreas. Your help is much appreciated.

Thanks smile.gif

Budget - Well, not too much. Upto about £500, I am always willing to go second hand
Location - United Kingdom, Stoke on Trent
Preferred Resolution - 1366x768 or above. As long as it hits at least 1366x768 I'm not that fussed
Purpose of laptop - University work and some gaming. By gaming I mean the ones on my original post plus maybe newer games on low.

All this is if I can't repair the screen on the 5920g. That is my first priority, a new laptop second. Cheers.
