You can manually bump it to 1600. No rush with ocing. Take your time, do a bit of reading until you're comfortable with the bios. My last board was also a Hero. Coming from X58, the bios was a bit overwhelming at first.

my current build is listed below . I used cpu level up in the rog uefi bios to automatically overclock my i7 4770k to 4.2ghz . I checked computer properties and it says i7 4770k @ 3.5 ghz and in the NVidia experience software under were it says my rig it says i7 4770k @ 3.5 ghz . the only place I see that I have it overclocked to 4.2 ghz is when I ran prime95 100% load test it post 4.2ghz 100% load and my max temperature is 71c only 4c higher then my i7 4770k at stock speed at stock . were else on my desktop will it tell me I have it overclocked to 4.2ghz ?

Download CPU-Z or other monitor software, and it will show you your overclocked speed. No program that I know of that comes with windows will show you overclocked speeds.

Also, you should do manual overclocking instead of auto. It's just overall better. There are plenty of guides here and else where to help you learn how to do it, and safely.

I understand what you are saying that manually overclocking is better but I all ready ran some benchmarks and my 3Dmard 11 score went up from p17532 to p17914 and my novabench score went up from 2534 to 2624 and my cpu temperatures are only 4c higher then when I have it at stock speed . do you really think I can get better results if I manually overclock my cpu ?

Manual overclocking allows you to optimize settings, instead of having wildly approximate one-size-fits-all that might be giving you a little bit or a LOT more voltage than you require

Make sure all the power saving features in your BIOS are disabled if you want it to run at overclocked speeds all the time.

Read over this http://rog.asus.com/254052013/maximus-motherboards/recommended-settings-for-overclocking-maximus-vi-motherboards/

And it seems you got spyware or something from where ever you found your prime95 download, i would recommend downloading malwarebytes and running it to clean up your system.

my current build is listed below . I am trying to overclock my i7 4770k to 4.3 ghz I watched a youtube video with JJ from asus on how to overclock a z87 rog motherboard and on the video he used adaptive mode and changed the voltage value in additional turbo boost voltage and he said you shouldn't stress test your cpu if you use adaptive mode . I tried to use manual mode that way I can stress test my cpu and after I am done I will put it in adaptive mode . but in manual mode I don't see the option of additional turbo boost voltage . what voltage option am I supposed to change in manual mode to overclock my cpu ?
