GTX 750 OC MSI OR ASUS?

Thread Starter
Going to buy a gtx 750. Have some doubts:-
1) I have a PCIe Gen 2 slot, will it work at full performance still?
2) Should I get
MSI(http://m.newegg.com/Product/index?itemnumber=14-127-788)
OR
ASUS(http://m.newegg.com/Product/index?itemnumber=14-121-854)
Is the price difference worth it?
3) The processor it's gonna run with its a Core 2 duo e7400, will it be bottlenecking the 750?
1) PCIe gen 2 wouldnt bottlekneck i wouldnt think.
2)Your links didnt work? which model for the ASUS?
3) CPU will definitely bottlekneck in any modern game, even worse if the game is cpu intensive. But it should still make most games payable at lower settings which sort of defeats the purpose of the 750??
What you hoping to play? and what mobo/current GPU you using etc

Leave the brands alone. You are now making me consider getting the 750 again. Which card so you think will not be bottlenecked by the processor? I have a DG41RQ mobo with 4gb ram running via a 400w psu. Hoping to play some of the latest titles and get the most out of the existing hardware.
If you don't have that cpu overclocked to at least 4ghz(not easy) you are going to have a tough time staying above 30 fps in newer games. I suggest you get a GCN based Radeon card like the r7 260x, as mantle can significantly reduce cpu bottlenecks.

Even then since I don't think you are gonna be able to squeeze much out of your cpu, I suggest you save up for a new rig.

Can you suggest me some more cards of the same rhyme?
Going lower than the 260x/gtx 750 you start to see much lower performance for relatively small price differences;if you can find an older Radeon 7750/gtx 650 for under $100 you could go with that.

I'll be honest though, even with a faster cpu(Athlon 250 overclocked to 3.45ghz) and a slower gpu(ati 4830) I still noticed some bottlenecks several years ago, so you really should be looking at a full overhaul soon.

I have a budget of about 120 bucks. Getting other cards rather than the Maxwell based ones will require a new psu too. Bit of performance loss is okay but I don't want any bottlenecks. Please help!
Gonna have bottleknecks either way.
-OC your cpu as high as it is stable
-maybe go something second hand like a 7770/GTX650 your psu limits you a litttle too,
My htpc is an e8400 higher clcoked and more cache , not by much though and its paired with a HD7770 Ghz edition and it actually does ok low to medium settings, it will beat a GtX 460 most times anyways,, and the 460 takes alot more power to run. 750 would be fine but if you could get something like a 7770 cheaper some and more RAM, cpu cooler or other upgrade it would be all round better. what games exactly?

The mobo I have is not overclocking friendly DG41RQ. 7770ghz edition was the card that I was planning on earlier but some other people over the forum suggested me 750 and were against the bottlenecking issue. http://www.overclock.net/t/1483597/gpu-for-intel-e7400-on-top-dg41rq
Also i play games like Crisis, games mostly that are GPU extensive.
crysis is old. from around the time your cpu was new actually, so the 7770 or 750 will work fine go for the cheapest. what is your current gpu btw?
