Home Cinema / Home Theater Thread

Thread Starter
Hello my fellow Overclockers.

I just wanted to see some Home setups on here and I didn't even find a single Home Cinema Setup and I really want to help other find some stuff if they're searching as well.
Therefore I wanted to start this Thread, to discuss with others and help someone if they need help for a Home Theater / Home Cinema.

I'm quite sure here are many more Enthusiasts who have a Home Cinema. thumb.gif

I would be quite happy, if you could post some pictures (videos as well) and maybe later I'll do a list with each setup.

Another thing, which would be quite nice, is if you could add some specifications (items) you have in your setup.

If this needs a rework, please tell me. I appreciate some nice Feedback. (I'm only 17 and not a native english speaker, therefore have mercy)

NOW ENJOY!

(I'll add some pictures later too thumb.gif , first I need to clean the mess in my room)

Now that it is warm again I suppose I'm going to to have to finish staining/sealing them this spring. dangit.

Lets see.... it's a 65" Vizeo M series "240hz" Panel. Denon 3313CI, Panasonic Blue-Ray, Crown XLX1000 for Sub.

Speakers are obviously custom. Designed to meet the requirements of cinema more-so than audiophiliacism and I think they hit the target pretty nicely. Huge dynamic capabilities without the need of esoteric amplification on the mains was a goal. The resulting speakers here have a final (true) sensitivity of over 90dB@1W1M and are reasonably flat from ~80-16k cycles within the design axis. Intelligibility is never an issue. Distortion isn't a problem till things are beyond reference levels at the listening position (~110dB combined). We never use it there, in fact, we usually watch movies at ~ -30dB from reference with a touch of compression for comfort, the overkill is mostly a novelty.

i will have to get some new pics but you get the idea.

100" Elite screen
Epson 8350

Ive upgraded the front speakers to a pair of Polk Monitor 70's running off of a Crown XLS1000 amp

and i built a new media pc than the one thats in the pic.

Next upgrades will be a replacement sub (thinking about going DIY on this one) and new center channel.really wanting to pick up an Emotive Umc-200 but i dont have the amps for it yet.
