Here are my results from running Prime95 for 12 hours:



I accidentally closed RealTemp earlier so the highest temperatures reached for Cores 1,2, and 3 were 89 C. That seems very hot to me.

For the GPU OCing, I never experienced any artifacting while I was benchmarking my OCs. Is that the main sign of instability in an OCed GPU?

89C is hot for a 1.20v overclock...time to upgrade that hyper 212 me thinks!

You need to remember that you are having both CPU and GPU bottlenecks with Skyrim. I would say just try for 4.3GHz on the CPU OC, and try to get +100MHz on memory and +65MHz on clock for the GPU. You may want to bump the volt a little bit on the GPU, then have a gaming session of Skyrim. See if you drop below 60FPS (other than in loading screens). If you do, check to see if GPU hit 99%. If it did, you need to OC the GPU a bit more. If it didn't hit 99%, try for 4.4GHz on CPU.

Also remember that these stress tests that you are using to test for stability require more power, cause more stress, and output more heat than anything else you will do on your computer.

Would moving the cpu fan to the other side of the heatsink reduce the temps by a few degrees? Or perhaps decreasing the voltage to 1.15V will make a difference? Something is not right with those temps because I have read cooler temps with higher OCs with !5-4670k and that Cooler.

I will reduce my GPU OC to those specific numbers, but I want to see if I can reduce the temps for the CPU before OCing it further. I am not sure if a Hyper 212 EVO can safely OC the CPU to 4.3 or 4.4 Ghz.

Update: I decided to re-install the Geforce 335.23 drivers over the BETA 337.50 drivers. The FPS has increased and after some more testing, it looks like the CPU is the major bottleneck. I am going to try to OC it to 4.1 Ghz though I am worried about the temps to be honest.

Could adding another fan to the other side of the heatsink for a push-pull configuration decrease the temperature enough for OCing? I am asking this because I am not capable of working with my hands for computer components and I am afraid I would damage my components.

Otherwise, I would replace the CPU cooler.
