That game never had a prayer of living up to its hype. To be perfectly honest I played through it and didn't find it that bad. Pretty fun actually.

The things you both have said are definitely true, and the stars certainly aren't aligning quite as maliciously with Arkham Knight.
That being said, my general interpretation of the DNF fiasco was that even if you have to wait for a long time, somethings can still be lackluster (I admit I honestly never played it so I'll be safe and stick with mild verbage based on the plethora of reviews). I suppose my point is that even if a project is given more "real world time," it can still be rushed. We don't know how long a team actually needs to finish a project or the rate of progress they're making. Still hoping it's good, but I won't be expecting more just because it will be released later.
