How would I use a aqua computer active backplate with two r9 290x cards? - Page 2

OK - update:

I picked up a second active backplate, and I might as well buy one of your aquacomputer bridges. Could you tell me which one I need? (Picture included, since I'm not too good at counting slots - always seem t get the count wrong!)

BTW, I haven't installed the other active backplate yet, obviously. My home-made link works fine for the active-passive combo, but I wouldn't have enough space for two active plates.

With two free slots between the cards you need this one.

Hey Shoggy, what would I need for a triple card r290 setup on a Gigabyte x99 soc force motherboard if I have the cards in the 1st 3rd and 4th orange pci-e slots all with active backplates? Will the 7 slot kryoconnect kit work with active backplates?

Edit: After looking closer at the 7 slot I don't see any side inlets like on the kryoconnect that you linked to. So if I use the the kryoconnect for active backplate 3 slot version on the bottom two cards what distance or size of spacer/link will I need to reach up to the top card? Would this work? Or would this be closer to the length I need?

I have no exact dimensions on had but there will be almost no space left between both connection terminals so this will be no solution... If you connect it that way you would have to use the upper ports for the card in slot 1 and the lower ports for the pair with the kryoconnect adapter.

I'm not quite sure you understand how I am going to set these cards up so I made a picture, as I'm pretty sure there will be space in between the terminals.

The main reason I ask is because the terminal for the active backplate seems to extend above the pcb of the card when installed to accomodate for the pipe leading to the backplate. I probably could have figured this out on my own if there were detailed diagrams of the parts with dimensions on your website. However I'm very grateful for the help, thanks Shoggy.
