Alrighty folks! Help me out! :D Laptop buying tiiiiiime!

Thread Starter
Okay, so unfortunate series of events brings me to needing a new laptop.

Budget: $1000, possibly $1100 (if the deal is worth it)

Needs:

- Large HDD. Least 1TB full speed drive or a cached drive like the SSHDs out there
- Preferred this one be a 15.6" machine. Nothing bigger, nothing smaller
- Preferred two drive bays, not including the ODD as a drive caddy
- Gaming Notebooks people! GAMING NOTEBOOKS! I WILL BE GAMING!
- Intel CPUs. I need good IPC peeps!
- Preferred NEW machines. Unless it has a warranty left, I will not be buying another used machine.

Preferred brands: Anything not Dell or Alienware

Ill just relay all the info we had via PM so others can chime in

I recommend the Y510P with an i7. It stretches the limit of your budget with the i7 for sure, but it leaves you with a good platform to build on RAM/HDD if needed. Its 979 right now at the egg.

I know you want to have the possibility of 3 drives, so ill offer potentially 3 drives here.

WD Squared drive. 120GB SSD with 1TB platter drive. As well as caching for the platter drive.
Then the Ultrabay can also be a HDD bay when your not gaming.

Thats stretching it for this laptop though, im sure others will be able to chime in.

Most knowledgeable peeps in mobile stuff know the potential of 755m SLI, I would get it over 750m SLI any day.

However the battery life is pretty poor on this machine. Though when your gaming your usually static, and plugged in.

My condolences on your loss.

You know what's out there better than most, so other than the Lenovo...

Mr. Right

Mr. Right Now

I'm not sure, but if it was me I would likely hold off a month or so because I'd rather go without for a little while than buy something I don't want to be stuck with for 2-3 years. So, going over your budget by the smallest amount possible, this is how far from a GTX 870m you are.

Mr. I found some more money for the budget [$1290/$1251 cash]:
