I am debating getting a 1440p 27" display to replace my 1080p eyefinity set up I am just tired of dealing with the hassle of owning triple monitors and I need room on my desk to support my new audio addiction my budget is $400 what do you guys suggest?

bump and update I found a Shimian 27 on CL for $200 obo how is the response time on these monitors?

Its not cheap to downgrade from eyefinity, also stop being so impatient wink.gif
We dont know, never heard of shimian, sounds like a cheap knockoff. my suggestion, as always when it comes to monitors, get a BenQ or an Asus.

*EDIT*
Just saw your budget, I think your fairly SOL. Good 1440p monitors are all over $500

Speak for yourself there are dozens of clubs on ocn for these monitors they are well known brands.

In any case, I will tell you now, its not the same. I've played on both, as much as I like 1440p, there is nothing like the immersion a surround system gives you. As many problems as I have with my surround setup, I wont give it up unless I absolutely need to.
Want to clear up some room on your desk? Buy a triple-monitor stand that mounts to the side of your desk. Will free up tons of space.
Just as an example

I actually tried that exact one I had to return it because the outer arms where sagging quite a bit.

Try a higher quality one. Trust me when I say there is no replacement for the size (except maybe 4K, but those are stupid expensive and experimental). I believe XFX makes a heavy duty one that will stand up to it.

I looked into the Xfx abd it's super pricey. Maybe I'll find room to add on to my desk. What if any triple monitor management programs do you use?

There is one on steam called DisplayFusion that's pretty good. Granted I have Nvidia Surround so I'm screwed from the start lol. Anything is better then stock. Yes the XFX may be super pricey, but I'm still gunna get a higher quality one, day. Take a look on Amazon, they have some nice sturdy looking ones on there.
