Don't increase prices because you think your to big for your britches. There's always someone else willing to take your place.

Can't really compare the 2 blockbuster was getting greedy didn't i mean they would charge you 2-3x the price of a rental if you was late most movie places adapted that idea and they went under. Now look at netflix they are only raising it 1-2 dollars a month not a rental not a day and we dont know yet if that increase will get more content or the prices of content they serve has went up in price and they have to pass it along to the consumers to keep them. I think its to soon to really complain about the price hike and it might not even happen or could be less even and they could bring more features with the price increase and its a rummor

this source has much better infomation about the price hike and how net neutrality has a part in reason netflix is needing to raise prices.

Ridiculous asking prices from studios like Sony and Paramount are great examples>> throttling ISP providers(Comcast anyone???) all just trying to "milk" the viable market aka Netflix.

Greed is good. No one cares if you dont pay the fee, actually most Hollywood companies would shake your hand and kindly guide you to there own service which just so happens to be the same price....you suckers.

A bit unrelated but your first sentence touched off a thought and feeling I have always had..........

I really wish major studios would allow people to rent and stream major movie releases in their homes when they release. I would much rather sit in my home in front of my 60" and my surround sound and stream a new movie than go to the theater and deal with that mess. If I could drop $60 to rent a movie for 24 hours and watch it in my home, I would be down for that in a heartbeat!

Why? Comfort, privacy, the ability to pause, and honestly it would be cheaper a lot of the time.

When myself, wife, and three children go to the movie, by the time tickets and snacks and all that are purchased, I am up into $100 easily. If it is my wife and I on a date, we do dinner, maybe a bit of shopping, and then the movie. We still easily clear a $100 trip to town.

On release, or even a week AFTER theatrical release, if I could stream a movie in my home I would pay well for that.

They don't want to make it THAT easy for the pirates. As much as I love your suggestion, I don't see it happening any time soon.

Pirates already get day 1 access to most any movies, music, etc anyways. It's not making it any easier to be quite honest.

This!

I wait until it's on Netflix and get it on Blu-Ray. The theater is way over priced for the experience received IMO.

Oh, I am not saying it's difficult to be a pirate, but I think this would just be another easy way for them to do it. Let's be real; First of all, Twinkie is right in that there IS a market of people who would rather watch new releases on their living room TV, and I am also one of those people. Secondly, Hollywood is ALL about making money. If they thought this would be a way to increase sales without much risk, they would be all over it. If you don't think the reason we CAN'T do this today is because of the threat of piracy, why aren't we able to do it right now? I can't think of another good reason why Hollywood wouldn't want us to do this.

I hate the browsing system in Netflix. It seems like I just find the same movies over and over again and never seem to stumble upon anything new and/or interesting. I use it for a couple of months in a row every year and I'm fine with that.
