Netflix is probz the best in the UK. Sky charges way more but does not require internet but you dont get to choose what you want to watch. Netflix is good for people because its cheap and u get to watch whatever u want, especially for students or apartments!

Hmm...I might end up living with "just" Amazon Prime...it might be less convenient, but...I actually gain something more than "just video streaming" with $99 a year.

Netflix is what? Currently $96 and will go up another $12~24? mad.gif

I think cable companies need to just let you choose what you want to watch...

"Standard" channel pack - As is now

"Selective" channel pack - priced fairly ( yeah, right! )
  • 10 channel pack
  • 20 channel pack
  • etc

I honestly wouldn't watch more than 10 channels myself. Outside of Netflix, I may watch maybe 4 different stations online ( at least, for stations that also put their episodes online ).

Doubt that will ever happen for numerous reasons. It's been wanted since the inception of cable television subscriptions.

Netflix Inc. said it plans to increase its U.S. prices for new members by a dollar or two...
Does this mean current customers won't be affected?

The selection on Netflix isn't great, but other streaming services, like Amazon and Hulu are not any better. Exclusive rights and exorbitant licensing for movies and TV shows are the primary cause, I imagine.

Yup!

Netflix is welcome to increase rates, especially if it means more content.

What people are failing to realize is that Netflix doesn't really control their own rates, the Copyright holders of the content indirectly do that. Disney wants to charge more? We can't stop them, someone has to pay for that....

Oh, I'm aware that it'll likely never happen... but I can still dream D:

Until then, no cable for me thumb.gif

I give Verizon enough of my money for internet already.
