I think craft beers are more of a hipster thing than anything though. There are many things out there that taste WAY better than beer if someone is only going to have 1-2 drinks. Sparkling fruit drinks come to mind.

The light attached to coors light or miller light has nothing to do with the alcohol %. Guiness is one of the lowest alcohol beers in the US but also one of the heaviest. The light is for texture and calories.\

If your drinking some craft beers like double IPA's or double stouts you better like the taste or your throwing money away. I bought a 4 pack of a triple goose island IPA to have with my steak the other week and only had one becuase it complimented my steak really well. I wasn't looking to get drunk only have something that paired well and a fruit drink doesn't pair well with a medium rare skirt steak. Its an acquired taste just like liquors.

So how does good beer taste compared to Bud Light or Corona? To me beer is very bitter and actually tastes better slightly chilled, not super cold. in the commercials they always show someone reaching into a cooler full of ice to take a beer that's always about 33 degrees Fahrenheit. Why do people like their beer so cold you can't even hold the can? Also what is your take on light beer?

Fruit drinks go good with *everything*. >_< Acquire some taste, dangit.

Compared to Bud? sicksmiley.png My urine would taste better than that! Corona is not too bad.

I like my beer cold so it's not warm when I get to the end (~15 minutes to finish a pint). Oh, and warm beer is illegal tongue.gif (it's not but should be!!!)

Alcohol hasn't always been in liquid form. What about Jello shooters?

Coors, Bud etc are like 5% that's less than half the ABV of more powerful ales (closer to wine) You most certainly can notice the difference between them after a few.

Craft brews are also very popular now they've been gaining more and more market share every year. Hipsters drink PBR.

People like their beer so cold you can't even hold the can because when beer is cold, it has less taste, and if it tastes bad, then it's better if it's colder. The beers that are advertised as being best very cold, Coors in particular, are all ones that taste bad.

Beer is supposed to be in the 50 degree range. The specific best temperature depends on the type of beer, but they're around there. You don't want it room temperature, but you also don't want it ice cold. Having it warmer means the volatiles can evaporate off, which means that as you drink it more of them are floating up around your nose and mouth which enhances the flavor.

A beer that tastes better when it's colder is a bad beer.

"Light" beers are an abomination.
