all the bench guys are using individual cards though, with better power delivery and cooling than these dual GPU cards can provide easily

The whole hype about hawaii beating 780/titan was done stock vs stock, it was never really ahead with OC, and 780/780ti were the competition after launch (780 to compete on value, 780ti as the absolute best single GPU card that it could be for the green dudes)

2x full gk110 vs 2x hawaii depends too much on achievable overclocks

The Titan Z has a single fan and ~700MHz core clocks, so it WILL be smoked by the 295X2. No question there.

I'm not talking about Titan Z, i mean Hawaii vs gk110 in general. The 295x2 and titan-z won't be clocking as high as 290x/780ti do

700mhz makes no sense for a benching or even gaming system, i mean people are getting those kinds of benchmark scores with a single 780ti if it's clocked so low.

That's exactly my point, these things won't be clocked so high. You can't get a titan-z and be like ololol gaming @1300-1400 with 2x full gk110, just like you can't clock a 295x2 like you could a pair of 290's - that's why it's pretty laughable for any gamer with a spare pci-e slot and value in mind - you can get two aftermarket 290's for £300 each or a 295x2 for £1100+.

I think they may have took the Titan Z into consideration, but it was the price hike from mining that caused this to drop at $1499. That's just my opinion tho.

Nah. It's purely because it's CrossFire in a single card. It's used by reasonable people that want something small for good reasons, and more so by naive people that only look at blunt benchmarks and don't know the major latency and microstuttering penalities of multiple cards, even with whatever fixes they did lately. Let alone it's bad for applications that can't use two OpenCL instances.

The Titan Z I agree about. the 295x2 OTOH I believe has been clocked to 1100 MHz in stock form. add a full cover waterblock and you could likely get 1200 mhz or more if you can add volts. That's not much different than 2 290xs, especially reference models. The biggest draw to these IMO is M-ITX/ M-ATX. I know I want a 295x2 for a custom ITX build that I've put on hold atm to work on my new bike.
