Uni-Xonar software not seeing my Xonar DX

I am running a Xonar DX inside my NZXT H440 case. Other specs include 2700k, Asus Sabertooth Z77, EVGA GTX 680ftw 4 gig gpu's in sli, 16 gigs Corsair Dominator Platinum. Seasonic X650. I had to plug the Xonar into my bottom PCIE video card slot because there was no room for it in the standard aux pci slots. By no room I mean that because of the I/O plate for the graphics cards, I have no room to place the Xonar EXCEPT the bottom pcie slot. Now, I do get sound through the Xonar. Its also seen as working properly in my device manager and the audio connector is plugged up securely as well as the external power molex connection. The problem is that the actual default Asus Xonar and Uni-Xonar software do not see the device and the configuration software for it will not load. Does anyone have a solution in mind for this? 20140421_010045.jpg 2299k .jpg file 20140421_010148.jpg 2151k .jpg file

BTW, I'm using Windows 8.1 os. Before I updated to 8.1, I tried the drivers and they still didn't seem to want to let me get into the configuration settings.
