By the way, I don't think you can use the card when connected to on-board for anything other than GPGPU. From what I can see, all XFX R7 260X cards have both a a DVI-I connector (analog + digital signal) and DVI-D (digital only) so you can connect the VGA monitor to DVI-I with a DVI-to-VGA adapter. If it's anything like the layout of my XFX 7770, DVI-I would be the one DVI output on top, check in the GPU papers. You can buy the adapter for dirt cheap, I think it's some $2 so getting one shouldn't be a problem, most computer part stores generally have those in stock.

Did as said. Unhooked the power switch cable(2-pin) and fixed it onto the clear CMOS jumper. Still no signal. Guess I'll have to get the adapter.

Yeah, it looks like XFX doesnt include the dvi to vga adapter with their cards. A lot of manufacturers do.

That true. Plus if the monitor he just bought (unless maybe a used 21" CRT) only has dsub, its going to be fairly low resolution and he wont get full advantage of his 260X.

Gentlemen, first of all, the manual isn't very useful for this. The chasis I have (sig) has quite a large number of cables out of the box. So I spent most of yesterday afternoon sorting that out, well trying to. I assure you guys I'm not pulling a prank. This rig's been on my mind since last year and after the exams last month, I'm hoping to put it together. The manual does not specify any troubleshooting info either. And this is my first build, so cut me some slack! biggrin.gif

I did. I'll be tinkering tonight to see if I miss-plugged some cables.

I'm sure it will help! And I'm hoping as well. Got 5 Splinter Cells coming any day!

At most, maybe 1600X900 but I've been playing @768p all my life, so if it around that, I'll still be happy. And it'd max out most stuff @ that resolution biggrin.gif
