[Codemasters] Introducing GRID Autosport - Page 2

I got Grid 2 and was disappointed there was no cockpit view. It seemed like this would of been a good game, but I just wasn't immersed and lost interest after a few races.

This sounds like it might be good. Hopefully they make a proper Dirt rally game now.(without the stupid Gymkana and drift crap).

Hmm...

If the handling is like DiRT 3 but on tarmac I might be interested. Something that isn't a sim that doesn't think it is one can be quite good fun - NFSU2, DiRT 2 & 3 etc. If it handles anything like the previous GRID games it'll be terrible though, hopefully they've learned their lesson.

There was nothing full blow arcade about Grid 2. It was a good mix between arcade/simulation. The perfect blend IMO. Full blown arcade is the trash that comes from Need For Speed titles, generally.

Full blown simulation is not what I'm personally looking for in a Grid title, but that's where it's heading I guess. Sigh.

It wasnt sim on any level. Was more like need for speed than not.

No in car view? Check
Meant to be played with controller and not a wheel? Check
Unrealistic physics? Check

It's an arcade game.

I was very disappointed with Grid 2, the worst part being how multiplayer was handled, we still have stints on Grid1 over Tunngle to this day, as the online experience has not yet been matched, and the lack of being able to host your own game properly is a disgrace, I have been on Grid 2 twice in the past two months and it's empty there are virtually no players left.

Grid 1 I thought was awesome. Grid 2 sucked. Way too arcadey and everything else seemed like a side step or step back.

Grid 2 just shouldn't have been a "Grid" game. Was more in tune with a Need For Speed game.

Hopefully Grid 3 fixes this. Certainly seems like it!

Is it me or this game looks pretty similar to Grid 1?

This is awesome news, I really couldn't love GRID 2 due to the handling. Cars had no weight or perception of it shifting in corners.

Ha, they'll never make GRID a fully blown simulation. Their market isn't in that area, their expertise isn't and to be honest, there isn't so much money in it (being a niche product, good quality competitors and an already mature market).

So, no...they are implying they are going back to an arcade style context, but with a more realistic handling style... more towards Gran Turismo than Grand Theft Auto smile.gif

I was basically writing this post before I double checked tongue.gif This should be a nice game to play when I need to cool off from Assetto Corsa.
