[Codemasters] Introducing GRID Autosport - Page 3

Looking forward to this. Played Dirt2 & 3 and liked them. Then played Grid 2 and thought it sucked.
I used to loved Toca Pro Race Driver back in the old days though, hopefully Grid Autosport will have those same elements.

Full blown simulation is not what I'm personally looking for in a Grid title, but that's where it's heading I guess. Sigh.

Grid 2 was most definitely full blown arcade. The handling was so sensitive that the slight twitch of your steering wheel/controller control stick would send your car into a drift (which almost always ends up in a bad situation).

I most definitely look forward to how handling is done in this iteration of the Grid series. Because I liked the ambience and beauty of Grid 2, but utterly hate the steering.

Wonder if you'll be able to drift in GRID 3... it's the only reason me and my buddies continue to play GRID 1 to this day. The open field drifting map is the most fun you can ever have in this game.

I don't know if we will ever see GRID get Forza realism. I would love to see a game with Forza realism on the PC. I know that Project CARS is just around the corner but I don't think it will ever touch Forza 4 in the amount of variety it has car and track wise.

Here's to hoping though. thumb.gif

It looks too edgy and more simulation focused. I know many didn't like the game play GRID 2 but the graphics were very smooth and felt lifelike at times. This game looks more like a PC racing game from a decade ago. Looks like a step backwards imo. All for a cockpit view. Don't we have enough simulation racing games for PC?

You do realize a Console game backed by Microsoft has 10x the budget for licensing etc. then a game like Grid or any other PC based racer.

I really hope this makes me love GRID again. The first GRID was awesome!

Anyway, no-one else see this other article in the OP source, announcing GRID : Railroad? Obviously a joke. biggrin.gif

This won't be a simulation... it won't be like project cars, Sim raceway, Assetto Corsa etc... no where near it.

They're just returning to the original Dirt and GRID games where the cars had some more weight behind them and driving was similar to the rules rules of the world where you feel weight shifting etc...

It's not a simulation, it's a more realistic physics model... I suspect closer but not equal to Gran Turismo.

Not incredibly thrilled to see another "Grid" out of the gate this soon from the last one.

Could have been dlc...
