I had Race07 etc... but the AI isn't amazing and the engine is simply too old and dodgy when it comes to collisions to be massive fun. I got Next Car Game as well, but right now it's a long way off completion.
Out of interest, how much is the DLC and how much does it cost? I know I can look, but I don't want to be too obvious at work
I would want Nordeschlief for sure... 100%
EDIT: I hope they laser scan and add Brands Hatch... that's such a fun track, especially the downhill first corner
You should definitely buy AC, it's a fantastic base game at the moment and it'll keep improving. Requires a wheel to get the best out of it (think you've already got one?) and takes a bit of getting used to once you dial the right settings in. No ideas on how much the addon content will be, they've not really specified it. Should be a decent modding community though, so that should provide something extra. They do have some laser scanned tracks, not sure if they'll do much in the way of British tracks seen as they're Italians but you never know. The biggest issue right now is the AI is overly aggressive, partially due to the fact it's made by Italians, but mostly due to them not optimising it yet. Once they get that calmed down and a bit more intelligent it should be good. Hotlapping on your own is good fun though, I'm sure when the online comes there will be servers that are setup like a track day where you can just take some of the road cars and have fun rather than seriously racing. One thing to note with the updates is they drop a lot of new content that usually has been worked on for a while, so once that's all out it might seem like they've stopped working when they're just focused on other areas.
I'd give the rFactor 2 demo a look too, has last seasons BTCC Civic and Silverstone I think.
Just to stay on topic, already posted my thoughts on this, but it'll be interesting to see what the wheel support is like. Personally I use a controller unless it's a proper sim, but the wheel support in previous GRID games hasn't been that great.
