Titanfall worth getting for 37 Bucks ???? - Page 2

Have they made any progress towards making the mechs customizable? Or is it still basically "Pick between the lightweight fast/weak damage one, the heavy slow/ strong one, or the average all around one."

It seems like they passed up a golden opportunity to make the game F2P and micro-transaction mech parts/entire new mechs. I'd be playing this already if I could customize my mech like Armored Core.

Well those are your three options for a chassis...but you have several options for your weapon, ordinance, tactical ability, and two different "kits" with mutually exclusive options. You have slots for five customized titans. The game does start with only basic uncustomizable options (for titan pilots too), you have to unlock all this stuff by leveling up...but I would say it's pretty customizable, even if I do find myself gravitating to the same option sets all the time.

Well that sounds more like weapon loadouts than customizing your mech. frown.gif I want armored core darn-it! I wanna be able to pick the cockpit, the arms, head, boosters, legs, modules, etc.

A friend of mine that plays said there are rumors they will have mech customizable parts in their first DLC pack, if that's true i'll pick it up for sure.

They need to do more with mech customization, my interest is starting to fade simply because there's not enough options and they made me play that awful campaign for the heavy mech chassis.

We need a much larger platform for our mech customization, similar to Armored Core.

I'm actually pretty mad I purchased it. It was great for about two weeks and then the fun wore off. If $37 is pocket change for you feel free, if not, I'd pick something else.

I heard mechs aren't even a threat in the game lol.

This.

I played the beta and didn't like it. My friend was watching me play the and saying "oh this is awesome". The whole time I was sitting there saying I thought it sucked and was boring, and he thought I was kidding. I told them I wasn't going to buy it because its boring.

Then reluctantly I bought it for PC on release because I had several friends bothering me to play it with them saying its so much better than the beta was. I played it for a total of maybe 10 hours, and uninstalled it. All my friends also quit playing it within a week or two of launch, because it was boring for them and they were the ones saying it was so great and amazing.

This game was nothing but a cash grab.

I get what you're after now, right they don't have that yet. I've never really cared about that stuff, but know a lot of people do.

I don't know where those rumors came from, the only thing they have mentioned for the DLC that I have seen are new maps. It would beef up the DLC a little though, the price seems a little steep to me for a couple of new maps.

The people saying that obviously don't know how to use their titans. Titans absolutely are a threat, but they are not an unbalanced threat...just because the other guy has a titan and you don't doesn't mean you're toast. But that doesn't mean they aren't a threat.

Exactly, Titans are a threat but if you're good enough you can fight with a Titan toe to toe without rodeo riding and without your own mech.

Same here, I played the beta for about 2 days as I got in late, and enjoyed it for the time I had. Purchased it and have only put 9 hours into it (haven't played in 2 weeks). Honestly it's no really worth the price it was released at, if it actually had a PROPER single player campaign, not the faux campaign (with little to no storyline) that it has, it would maybe be worth $50. Also there was random framerate issues, and the matchmaking was terrible, I was constantly put into games with 90% of the other players were at max levels and I was at level 5-10.. In saying that though I have been having a gaming lull recently, the only game I have played consistantly the past couple of weeks has been fallout 3. So maybe I will get into it again soon, but honestly I doubt it, I have some great games that I want to play (trials fusion, dark sould 2 and finish my new playthrough of FO3)..
