With that said, we had a good experience with AMD’s Radeon R9 295X2, and naturally wanted to see how two of them in a quad-CrossFire configuration behaved. At least right now, at 3840x2160, they’re like a three-year-old in Target. When you’re lucky, they’re little angels, boosting performance some (but not much). Other times, they have you questioning some of your life decisions. Maybe Ultra HD is bottlenecked by some other platform limitation, given this much graphics horsepower, and we really need to test a trio at 11,520x2160. But enough games demonstrated issues with smoothness, consistent frame delivery, and even dropped frames that I really don’t think so.
