[TH] OnePlus One Revealed: A $300 Snapdragon 801 Smartphone - Page 8

1080p, IPS display, pre-installed cyanogen mod and snapdragon 801? All for 300 bucks?! This is surreal, I'm getting this for sure. thumb.gif

Wow, wish I was like that. Then I would have just stuck with the iphone. AFter owning most of the galaxy phones, I did have the iphone 5 at one point. It was nice to type with just one hand, but it felt so small, especially since I like to watch movies on it.

Seems like this will replace my Samsung Galaxy S4. This phone doesnt work well with my cochlear implant.

SD card I can understand even if I dont need it and the 64GB version costs a cool $350

Dual sims are useful for people who frequent areas which have bad reception with one provider and good reception with another. I dunno how much this is actually needed for your average American. But my uncle who is always in SE Asia requires dual sim phones.

SE Asia as in a developing/emerging market? If they have problem getting reception in their locale why do they need sucha high end phone in the first place? That's where those sub $100 android phones come in. Even if the reception is poor in 1 area I doubt many will have 2 carriers at once, that just goes against the whole economics of an developing market.

I doubt you'd have issues getting coverage in large urban centres in China/Japan/Singapore with a single provider.

I'm going to clutch my Note 2 for another year or two. Then when I upgrade I'll hopefully see a massive boost, though apart from IM, text and call I don't do much and the camera is pretty decent so I'm OK with my phone.

Are you being serious? People have dual SIM phones because they don't like everyone to have their personal phone number and don't like to carry two phones around and why they have high end phones? I'd like to see you come to China and tell China Telecom, China Mobile and China Unicom to stop selling iPhones, Notes, Galaxy S4, 5 and other high end phones. This is the worlds biggest market and you'll be laughed all the back to whichever cave you came out of because your attitude is demeaning and insulting.

Really not liking this trend of huge phones. It's basically as big as the Note. I'll probably get it anyways when my contract ends because of the price. $350 for a 64GB phone is too much of a good deal to ignore.

thanks for explaining some use/scenarios where dual SIMs are handy

I was replying to someone who was mentioning spotty reception...and I'd argue that would only happen in rural areas or in developing countries...I said places in Asia with large cities found in Japan and China etc are the exception.

regardless lol @ the China Unicorn name.
