Nope.

Depends. If you can sell your card for the same amount you'd spend on the 290X, then it'll net you a bit more performance. I'm assuming that the 780 is reference cooled though. It won't be much more performance, but it'll be there considering the 290X tends to trade blows with 780ti's when cooled properly.

I have the gtx 780 msi gaming oc edition clocked at 7600 memory and 1050 core.

Iwould be spending an extra £20 or £30 on top for the 290x

what is making you think that the 780 is not up to snuff?

The 290X is obviously a stronger card, but whether or not it will be worth the upgrade is another story. I'd say no, but it really depends on what your priorities are.

No it doesnt worth the change.. wait for 20nm cards if your card isnt giving troubles

I'd keep the 780. More like a side-grade than an upgrade IMHO.

meh, for that price why not. An extra gig of frame buffer. And with any future driver updates the 290x could widen the performance gap even more. But yeah, it's whether or not you think the extra five to ten percent performance is worth the hassle.

Nothing really was just thinking of future proofing a little bit and it a bit of an upgrade for the sake of upgrading. For the sake of £30 i thought why not grab an extra 10% but thats where im unsure as ive been unableto find any real comparisons between the two cards its always compared to the ti edition so im not sure what the performance gain would be
