Ya if your on a budget the EK block is a good choice. And looks kind of decent.

Well good luck on your build bro. The only thing i could think of left to tell you is this.

If your in to this sort of light up show, some like it and some dont.

Thanks for the input! I think I'll go with the EK block in that case.

And that is an awesome setup! I have the raystorm block for my cpu and love how it looks, unfortunately the LED's broke though. . . haha.
One day when I'm much wealthier, I'll be paying more attention to the details! Thanks again.

Ok, I'll probably be doing that then. What thickness did you buy?

Backplates don't come with the blocks usually do they?
How much do you think a decent (cost-effective) passive plate would cost me?

Well, with everyone's help and from what I could find, this is my plan:
EK Water Block
Aftermarket Thermal Pad
EK Backplate
From what you guys can tell, does this make sense? Am I making any mistakes that'll kill me when I find them after I buy everything?

No need to waste money in Backplate unless you want it for looks. It will have no cooling benefits.

Well that's good. Haha, $30 less to spend. Did I find the right thermal pads that you were talking about?

Thank you! That would have been a pain to forget!

Yeah you got the right one. 1mm is the correct size for VRM1.

Sweet, so that only goes on VRM1 then? Not the second one?
