Will the r9 270x run with these parts?

Will the r9 270x run with:

Motherboard: GigaByte GA-H55M-S2H

CPU: Intel i3 540 3.07 GHz (4 cores)

Before you tell me that these parts are outdated AF, I know; the reason I'm asking is because In a few weeks I will be getting the AMD fx 6300 and a 80 dollar MOBO that I forgot the name of lol. But That will not be for a couple of weeks so I was wondering if the r9 270x will work for a couple of weeks with my current setup. What should I expect and will it damage anything? I'm using a Corsair HX620.

How long will it last and how bad will it be if compatible?

You'll be fine running the card with the system.

Keep your i3 untill broadwell or skylake a fx 6300 would be a sidegrade clock per clock(maybe the fx 6300 would be better in some games, also when oced above 4ghz)

And your cpu has 2 cores and 4 threads

I ran my 270x on my i3 540 at 4.2Ghz recently and and wasn't too bad, but not all that great either. Pretty clear CPU issues in Assassins creed 4 and Batman Arkham Origins, specifically hitching.

As long as you're going to overclock your FX6300 to 4.2+ it will be a noticeable upgrade over the i3 except for stuff like WoW, SCII.

I've had both the 540 and 6300 in recent months and the 6300 is definitely better, when overclocked. Make sure you buy a decent cooler and atleast a motherboard like the ASUS M5A97 R2.0(NOT the LE) and you should be good.
