Hoenstly, I'm going to left-field a suggestion to you - from the moment I saw the 900D, it looked like an attempt to reproduce the Silverstone TJ07, which is, in my opinion, one of the best cases ever made. A lot of newer people to computer building don't really know what were the iconic cases, and don't realize that a lot of "new" cases are more-or-less re-hashes of these iconic ones.

They're the same price (it's just TJ07's are harder to find because they haven't made them in a while), and the TJ07 just looks better to me. I'll point you to OCN's own owners club to give you some ideas about what I'm talking about: http://www.overclock.net/t/1090951/official-silverstone-tj07-owners-club-gallery

CTRLurself,

Love the honesty..

And it is not too out of left field and it is the first case I considered and you are right it is a much better looking case with all the bells and whistles plus some additional chimes... not easy getting hold of one even in Chicago... love the suggestion and you have rekindled the idea I had from the start... I am looking for one as we "speak". If you have any other suggestions please feel free

Thanks

Indeed the TJ07 is probably the superior case, but the 900D is a nice case nonetheless. If you want an opinion of the 900D I think @Jameswalt1 is probably the man to ask!

A few comments about the components just from personal experience....

Dominator RAM is over priced and not much better performance. if your buying it for looks, thats fine, but i prefer sticking with a more standard line of RAM...

I bought a sound card recently and was debating between the one you have and the ASUS Xonar Phoebus, and reviews led me to the ASUS... Couldnt be happier, the sound is phenomenal. that said, most of the negative reviews for the Creative Labs Z were in reference to the mic that i comes with. so if thats not a selling point for you, the Creative Labs might be fine. especially since the Xonar is a bit more pricy.

The fan controller you chose is a great one, used it in a few builds of mine and some friends. When i went with watercooling though, I chose a fan controller that was a little more automated. When the PC is idle, those fans get turned down to 30% or lower. the system is near silent. then gaming the turn right back up for performance. There are a few good automated fan controllers out there with temperature sensors and such. I have had good luck with the Lamptron CW611, but thats just one option. Also, this fan controller you chose has a minimum speed of 40%. maybe that doesnt matter to you, but its something to mention.

The NZXT HUE is real nice, but it has trouble doing some colors, such as purple. Not sure why, but something to mention.

The NZXT Aperture is great also. my one complaint is that when you have a case with USB3 ports built in, that uses the mobo header for USB3. Leaving the USB3 ports on the card reader with no where to plug in... Of course there are ways around this, like buying PCIE cards for USB3 headers, down converting it to a USB2 with an adaptor, or just not using it. But just something I didnt consider when buying it.

also, you posted in the water cooling section with mention of water cooling, but didnt post any water cooling parts! I wanna see what your doing! bigeyedsmiley.png

RabidSnail,

Great feedback just what I was looking for, Dominator RAM is pricey any suggestions?
I am in the process of putting the water package together I will be posting shortly

I think if you are going to water cool it I would go with the 4770K instead of just 4770, no point in water if you aren't going to OC
Sooner or later Shilka(?) may see this and slam you on the PSU. Seems over-kill. I would think you could make it with a good 850w PSU
Why x3 HDDs instead of one larger one?

Thanks, for the input...

The PSU is a tad overkill but at this point have not completed the water package and in addition I may go with an additional graphics card so it is not purchased as of yet I can always adjust later.
Why 3 HD's?
Separation of church and state...
1 Hd for backup,
1 for personal use and
1 for work
It is that that simple and for the price (WD OEM for $55.00 ea)

I agree that Dominator stuff is quite pricey. Any reason you need 32gb of Ram?

Through many of my own projects I have used a Variety of Ram Modules in many different Flavors.

Right now I have been sticking with G.Skill for the most part. I can vouch for the Ripjaws, Aries and Sniper modules. I typically stick with Quad channel and 4gb modules.

Nothing Wrong with Corsair Vengeance series either.

I really dont see a need for anything more than 1600 either. This is just my.. 2cents.gif

Good Luck with your Decisions thumb.gif

I have Dominator Plat 32gb (4gbx8), I have used and will back Ares (4gbx4), Ripjaw (8gbx4) and Vengeance Pro (8gbx2) and I loved them all. The DP is my current because I love how it looks and lights up.
Also used 1600-2133 and all seem the same to me, I only game for what it is worth.

OP, makes sense on the HDDs thumb.gif
