That's the problem. That's why your temps are too high. You must fill those gaps because that's the only way to get this to work as advertised. Imagine taking a solid-base heatsink and cutting thick grooves into it and then NOT applying thermal paste inside of those grooves. That's a lot of surface area that's not being used!

 

So, until you fill those gaps properly as shown in that tutorial I linked, you're going to have high temps. Look at the base: there's a HUGE difference between that and other heatsinks. If you can't see the difference, then you must be legally blind.

I completely understand what you are saying and I will do so tomorrow but I just don't understand how my temps were lower before even though I did the exact same thing I did a few months ago.

I'd say that a little bit of paste got in between the heatpipes and helped a little bit for a while but then it dried up due to too much air getting in. Maybe. Not sure. But this is why it must be done the way that tutorial describes.

It depends on the exact size of the CPU. Compare with their little black hatch marks that they made with a Sharpie. If yours is the same size, then use the 3rd method.

I have a small home office that I have a portable air conditioner I bought at Lowes, it has the dryer type exhaust tube that has attachments to fit in my window and the unit itself is about 4 feet from my system that sits on my desk and the unit blows air directly into my front intake fans and I have never had any issue's at all. and my system in the summer runs nice and cool, I don't use it in the winter as I live in the Pacific Northwest of the US. so go ahead and pump some cool air into your system and it will love you. smile.gif

The reason you don't have issues is it is physically impossible in this universe to have condensation while blowing cold air onto warm objects.
