Desicion between Hyper 212 EVO or H100i or Seidon 240M

Thread Starter
I can't seem to make up my mind if I want to go any of these routes. I am getting a Corsair Obsidian 450D.

1. Get a Hyper 212 EVO and 2 extra 140mm case fans for a top exhuast.

2. Get a H100i ($90) or a Seidon 240M ($70) instead.

Even though I am not really concerned with noise too much, I am concerned about the water coolers being annoyingly loud.

One of the big reasons people watercool is because of the LACK of annoyingly loud air cooler, especially stock GPU coolers. The vast majority of pumps are fairly quiet, even running at full speed. When I was using an H55 temporarily, the pump ran at full speed and I could barely hear it over the two case fans and PSU fan.

But like SkyNet asked, what is you goal here?

There's a huge difference between the 212 and the others.

As stated, goals?

I will be running a i5-4670k on a z87 extreme4 w/ a r9 280x. I am only interested in doing a mild overclock as stability is more important and I don't want to go through the hassle of testing all the settings. I like the look of the water coolers better than the air ones.

i did alot of research on this as I wanted to get one. but i have the same air cooler and have it on a oc i5 3570k @ 4.3. temp during game-athons 3-4 hrs in duration is still only 45c. if you not hard core oc'ing i wouldn't bother with an aio.

the evo fan is ok, not running 100%, maybe aio might be less noise but noise doesn't bother me.

Well, for a mild overclock I'm pretty sure that the 212 will suffice, but if you'd want to tweak it more in the future
(trust me you'll want to/unfortunately my CPU was given to me and is a non K)
you should definitely get an AIO water cooler..
Not to mention the eye candy effect!!I'd go with the H100..biggrin.gif

4670k on a 212 in nearly any ambient temp condition is good for 4.2 worse case scenario.

From everything, I have heard other than hear is that the water coolers are actually louder as they have 2 fans and the fans are placed on the edge of the case as opposed to the middle.
