280X = 243W

 

290 = 254W

 

Now when you try different combinations with a calculator, divide the total by the PSU's wattage. For example: 254 + 254 divided by 750.

The 80+ Certification doesn't mean anything important in this context. It isn't a sign of quality, nor does it have anything to do with the PSU's output capacity. It's just its efficiency, kind of like how an incandescent bulb is less efficient than a compact fluorescent even if the light output is identical.

 

If it's only the 270s and if the PSU is a good quality-made unit, then the 4x 270s would end up consuming about 65 to 70% of the PSU's capacity. They can pull up to about 145W each.

 

So, now the list is complete:

 

270 = 143W (to be exact)

 

270X = 177W

 

280X = 243W

 

290 = 254W

 

The lowest prices I can find on recommendable 850W PSUs are $109.99 with free shipping available from Amazon.com for the SeaSonic M12II, and $102.98 after shipping and a $15 rebate card for the XFX Pro Series Core Edition from Newegg.

 

A maximum budget of $100 for 850W PSUs is too low.

If each GPU is going to consume up to 145W, then that's 580W. Divide 580 by 750, and you get 77.33% of the PSU's capacity. That's not awesome, but it's also not bad. So, your 24/7 efficiency with a 24/7 power draw of up to 580W out of a good 750W PSU (the Capstone) won't be perfect, but it probably won't be all that bad either.

 

The 400W NEO ECO is way more than enough for just the system (no video cards), especially since the CPU will practically be idling.

do you guys think 3 x 290 non x + 2 x 270 (x) + system enough for single 1300+ w gold psu?

I am just to build a similar rig for mining with same gpu but different psu

1. 3 x 290 non x + 270 (x) + system = 1300w or maybe with a entry psu for system ( 1300w for all gpu) + system and etc for 400w

2. same but with old psu setup ( 1000 + 750w) ( 2x 290 non x + system) on 1000w and 270x and 290nonx on 750w
