We could see a price drop. If they drop it to 2K more people will consider it.

Absolutely..... I'd buy one today for 2 grand. The 295x2 is a great card but I'd pay the $500 surcharge to have the better build quality and added vram of the Titan Z. It would take the place of my 690 very nicely. But 3 grand is nuts considering in a year it will be outperformed by a pair of 880's for half the price. I doubt they drop the price though. Hell my 690 still sells for 1000-1200 dollars and its 2 years old.

this is why we have those prices...

the R9 290 is faster and cheaper than a GTX780 but since its from AMD... is a bad product for a lot of Nv users.

there is no reason on buying the same performance for more money.

Actually, I thought about buying an R9 290 before I bought my GTX 780, but there were several things that stopped me.

  1. Price was sky high due to the mining craze
  2. Heat output is much higher and the stock cooler is very loud (I wanted a blower-style cooler)
  3. Inconsistent clock speeds due to thermal limits.
  4. The stock GTX 780 cooler is damn sexy and very quiet.

The R9 290(x) is a fabulous card, but I think the GTX 780 is better engineered.

So its the Titan owner's fault that all video cards are 1k+ now. Got it.

so you are the one defending this ridiculous prices?

So, you are one of those guys that buy the same performance for more money?
im just waiting to know what quality are you talking about
do the 295x2 has no physical quality?
do the 295x2 has any issue with temps?
do the 295x2 doesnt overclock?
do the 295x2 has stuttering issue?

the reason why the GTX780 was a better buy
when the 290/290x were realease
it was because the card was better in every aspect
but performance were on par... and this was because 290/290X reference card come out with a bad cooler.

that is justisable.

but you are willing to pay $500 more
just because its Nvidia?

tell me in what TITAN Z worth
the $500 more over the 295x2

TITAN Z doesnt even worst 2K

Of course it is. If the Titan hadn't sold so much the price would have dropped pretty quickly, and they wouldn't consider releasing a 1k GPU again.

Unfortunately people like you wanted the absolutely best no matter the price. And since there seems to be many of you, you've created a new market for extremely priced enthusiast GPUs, hurting both our and your wallets.

Don't get all shirty.

His point is extremely valid.

If people are willing to pay $1K for a Titan, Nvidia are obviously going to charge a premium for their dual card, 'king of performance' variety.

That's how the free market works. I love high end hardware and I'm willing to pay top $$$ but I also have my limits.

CUDAS? the reason why Nvidia is postponing the release date its because is not
even close to the 295x2 gaming wise... not rendering/compute wise...

and More memory? do you need 12GB of memory?

and i can go back to when the GTX680 was release all of you where saying
the 7970 with 3GB was not needed and now 12GB are AWESOME?

LOL

keep justifying my friend, Nvidia will keep milking you.

No.
