Hello Everyone,

I am very new to overclocking and building PCs in general (ex Console Gamer), and I have read many of the guides and watched a few videos about overclocking.

Current Build:
Intel I5 3570K
Noctua NH-D14
MSI Z77A-G45
G.SKILL Sniper 8GB Ram
CORSAIR CX series CX750 750W ATX12V
SAMSUNG 840 EVO 250GB

I am trying to overclock to 4.6GHz, and I think I found a stable voltage, when I tried to verify it with CPU-Z it was rejected.

I had C1E Support enabled, as I had seen a youtube video from totallydubbedHD and he said to enable it. When I disabled C1E Support I was able to get validated.

Why is C1E Support adding megahertz when to my understanding it is supposed to lower the voltage? What other options should I enable or change in order to lower the voltage when there is little load? Thanks.

Is your cpuz the latest version? There was an update last month. Aside from that I do not know why it's showing a different clock speed.

As far as testing an overclocks stability, you need to run prime95 with cpuz and real temp (latest version) open. Run a blend test and check your temps and Max voltage. Anything over 1.45v is bad. Some people even say 1.4v isn't good. Also make sure your temps stay below 90c. If both the voltage and temp are within the safe limits, then let prime95 run for 8+ hours. If it passes and doesn't bsod then you are stable.

I have always left c1e on and many overclockers do as well.
