I think my video card died

Thread Starter
Last night I was playing DayZ and these grey lines appeared on the screen and the computer crashed. Now each time I boot it up it starts crashing after a few min even without load. I tried running some furmark tests and it crashes with the grey lines almost instantly after the test starts. I removed the card and did some more furmark tests that resulted in no crashing(using my a10 as a gpu).

Now my question is, what video card should I get to replace my 6870? I'd like more power then my 6870 and since I have the a10 APU maybe there is a good priced one that I can crossfire?

My max budget would be $150 shipped only from amazon. Would this be my best option? http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-Superclock-Dual-Link-Graphics-02G-P4-3753-KR/dp/B00IDG3IDO/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1398773938&sr=1-1&keywords=750+ti

or should I try get one that I can crossfire with the apu? Thanks in advance for any advice.

I might be able to stretch my budget a little with total max of $200

Would the r9 be the best bet then? Can my PSU handle it?

have you tried to reflow your card? if not, try that first... lots of tutorials / youtube vids on how to do it.

it sounds crazy to bake your GPU in the oven, but i personally revived a GTX 460 doing it.

otherwise, buy a 750 or 750ti and you're good to go

is it possible the psu is causing this? I don't have a spare to test so not sure how I could find out.

my psu is about a year and a half old. I don't think it's the problem but it's possible.

also would a GeForce GTX 760 be worth the much extra money? I just don't wanna waste money on trash again.
