Extracting broken standoff thread on a waterblock?

Thread Starter
Recently I got a couple EK waterblocks for my 780s, and one of the standoffs broke off when I was using one of the mountin screws. Even though the screw wasn't even halfway threaded, EK said that I have voided warranty.

Is there anyway to extract a small thread like this?

Just use a small screw extractor set.

You basically drill a small hole in the middle, then use another drill bit looking part to help you turn it and unscrew it. I take it you cant simply grab it by either side with a pliers correct?

This is what an extractor set looks like:

Honestly though you might just be able to drill a small hole down the center and make it so you stop just before the drill bit goes all the way through. Then spin slowly so the bit catches and it will probably screw out the other side if the threads aren't crossed.
