Fans for 2 - 184mmx92mm Radiators

Thread Starter
I'm curious on getting some input from people.

I am building an ultra small full water case which is going to be 8"x8.5"x8.5". It is going to have 2- 184mmx92mm Radiators cooling an i5 4760 and a GTX 760 video card. I am guessing it wont be a problem cooling them with just one set of fans in push or pull. Do you think I would need to do push/pull if I OC at all?

The fans I am looking to get are Noctua NF-B9
The radiators are black Ice nemisis 184mm

Thanks for any input!

Why would you want that one and not a 240mm?

because it wont fit. 8.5" ~215mm

The part where they will be mounted is approximately 205mm x 215mm

My options are:
1x120mm

1x184mm
2x184mm

The 2x184 gives me almost entire radiator coverage for what I am going to be working with. 2 radiators side by side gives me dimensions of 186mm x 213mm

the Black Ice is 16 FPI, the Noctua might lack the SP for that... 1.6 mm H²O at full tilt is acceptable, but not brilliant
it might work if you put them in push/pull, but then you are looking at 25mm + 54mm + 25mm = 105 mm thickness .. which is a lot of space

If that is no issue, then fine, go ahead with the Noctuas in push/pull

Otherwise, better find a fan with a bit more oomph ... something like a Sunon SanAce or a Delta (FFB series)

Performance PCs has a few Delta fans. I am not sure what sort of static pressure to look for. Some of them are MUCH higher, but also come at much higher RPMs. I'm not a person who needs silent, but of course I don't want a dull roar either.

Here are 3 I found:

Delta 92x38mm EFB0912HHE Triple Blade High Speed Case Fan
• 92x92x38mm
79.81 CFM @ 4000 RPM
• 46.0 dBA
• 5.04 watts
• 0.42 amps
• Maximum Air Pressure 9.42 mm H²O
• 12v DC

Delta 92x25mm FFB0912SH
• 92x92x25mm
90.02 CFM @ 4100 RPM
• 50.0 dBA
• 8.28 watts
• 0.69 amps
• Maximum Air Pressure 10.06 mm H²O
• 12v DC
• 3 or 3+4 pin Molex header connector(s).

Delta 92x25mm EFB0912L Triple Blade Low Speed Case Fan
• 92x92x25mm
40.60 CFM @ 2300 RPM
• 29.5 dBA
• 1.20 watts
• 0.10 amps
• Maximum Air Pressure 2.23 mm H²O
• 12v DC
• 3 pin Molex header connector.

I guess I didn't even think about them making a 180mm radiator! I think I am going to go with one of those, and one of these fans: http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=36_327_1132&products_id=37933

you can use phobya 180x32 fans too , they are cheaper and better at low speed , because the AP perform better but only at higher speed and noise. phobya make a bunch of 180x20mm or something like that too , a slim version which for you might be ideal.

It'll work but don't expect super good thermals. Liquid cooling for small builds like HTPCs which is what I'm assuming this is for generally are for two things, eliminating noise and increasing peak thermals to increase life span.

You'll have some really high delta temps that's for sure but it'll work fine, definitely better than any air cooling unit that would fit in a small chassis.

have you checked the size of the 180 rads? Most 180/200 will not fit in the space you have given (because of the fittings & such)

As for fans, the Delta's (in PWM) when set to 50% make a lot less noise, but still have good SP - check the graphs on their site for the models available
