Would anyone with a Maximus VII Gene be able to tell me if the VRM and MOSFET heatsink can handle OCs well? I'm looking to OC a 4790K in the nearish future, and wanted to know if I should start looking into more active cooling for that. Looking into a tower cooler now, so they wouldn't have as much airflow through them.

I'm using a 7 Hero and it looks to have the same heatsink as the Gene and I run my 4790k at 5ghz on 1.35v a lot without issue..

Hi, i can hit 4.9 at 1.37, but all I do is up the vcore and multipliers, what other settings should be I adjusting? I'm guessing I can go faster with less power if I knew to tweak a few other settings, if only the hero bios was in english lol. Also which bios are you using?

I did the same thing this past winter. Going from an 8350/Sabertooth to a 4790k/7 Hero and love it.

Not to say I didn't enjoy my AMD gear, I did.
