Upgrading memory - overclocking my current memory

Hi

I recently purached BF4 and came to the conclusion I miss out on ram to have it running fully stable.
Right now I only have 1 piece of 4GB, so no dual channel (if that matters for gaming)

I will upgrade to 8GB soon by adding the same (?)* piece of 4gb along with my current unit.

The specs are in my signature, but here's the model number for better information:

Corsair Vengeance 4 GB DDR3-1600 - CMZ4GX3M1A1600C9

* - The piece i'm about to order has the same model number except with an extra B added to it (CMZ4GX3M1A1600C9B)
Whats the difference? can I add my current ram along with the new piece and will things work fine?

Overclocking my current ram
I never oc'd ram before, so i'm not really sure how to do it and if its worth it.

I'm planning to have this 4gb unit oc'd untill I can add the other 4gb (couple of weeks)
Is it going to make a difference? my memory is being maxed out in BF4, will oc'ing this make it more stable?

Is it worth taking the risk or should I just wait out a few weeks and leave things at stock?

You can't really make up for lack of capacity by OC.
Being in single channel also gimps it a bit.

You should notice a giant improvement once your new stick is installed.

I believe the difference in model number is 'B' for blue, instead of your current black stick.

My current one is blue aswell, but i got the model number from cpu-z. But I guess you are right.
Ok, so i'll just leave this stuff at stock then. Its only a week or two I have to wait, settle with other games for now tongue.gif
