The funny thing is that HWMonitor from same dev (Franck) display correct Vcore...rolleyes.gif
Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
HWINFO shows correct vcore but it's awful bulky compared to cpu-z of course......would be nice if he could get it working for Gigabyte boards again.

I've been reading a few reviews of ASUS, MSI Z97 baords, and Gigabyte appears to still trail ASUS (and MSI to a lesser extent) in the UEFI department, especially with fan control (go read page 2 of Anandtech Z97X-UD5H review here to get an idea: http://anandtech.com/show/7964/gigabyte-z97x-ud5h-review/2).

With both ASUS and MSI board, you can controls fans directly in the UEFI, using a simple and intuitive tool, while Gigabyte still requires to set things as a function of PWM value/ºC from a drop-down list.

There are also 3 different 'modes' to make adjustments in the Gigabyte UEFI: 1. Sartup Guide, 2. Smart Tweak, and 3. Classic Mode (AKA old school BIOS).

Why they cannot concentrate on having just one great UEFI is beyond me. At least it appears that they have improved the Smart Tweak mode compared to the last generation.

I'm still looking forward to getting my GB Gaming GT, but here's to hoping that Gigabyte will someday reach the level of other motherboards (particularly ASUS) makers when it comes to their UEFI (but please do not try to match Asus atrocious support track-record.). biggrin.gif

You should have 0 problems with chipset driver install as long as its the first driver installed.

So I did a clean install of Windows, and guess what?
I install the 9 series chipset drivers and reboot only to find not a single USB port works. again.

Previous to rebooting I went into Device Manager and there were several listings headed with "9 series", but when I check the driver it appears to be a standard Microsoft driver. It's certainly not listed as the driver I supposedly installed.

Any ideas Sin? This has cost me half a day already today, not including previous tries at installing....

stasio. You have a SOC. Get a fancy voltage meter ffs.

They are fun, they make you feel important.

And dangerous.

Sin, do you think the rumors about a much improved 4790K might imply an improved or reprogrammed internal voltage regulator? Then again, the rumours might be completely false about a stock 4.4Ghz. smile.gif
